In line with Matthew Dodgsons original wishes circa 1731-41 to provide "to the poor of Thorner, Shadwell and Scarcroft"The Trustees determine the distribution in line with the original bequest, distributing usually to the elderly organisations in the three villages as the most needy, albeit the trust is always open to specific requests.
