To run and maintain the Thornton Steward Institute and to promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of the civil parish of Thornton Steward in the North Riding of the County of York and the immediate neighbourhood (the "area of benefit") without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, nationality, race or political, religious or other options.
