LICHFIELD SHERIFF'S RIDE

The organization exists to support, promote and facilitate an annual perambulation of the boundary of theCity of Lichfield, on or near the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as commanded by QueenMary in the Charter of 1553 that separated Lichfield from Staffordshire, making it a separate county withthe right to appoint its own Sheriff.
